Glass-to-glass tools time the whole journey. The moment your signal enters the cloud — production, transcode, packaging, distribution — it disappears into a black box, and you can't tell which stage added the delay. Chronos drops a probe at each boundary and correlates the frames between them, so every stage reports its own latency in real time.
The blind spot
Player-side QoE tells you a viewer rebuffered — minutes later, at the edge. It can't tell you that cloud production added 214 ms last Tuesday, or that two feeds drifted out of sync before the encoder. Chronos measures the signal itself, between the points you choose, while it's happening.
A frame leaving the venue and the "same" frame downstream are never byte-identical — re-encoding, scaling and re-timestamping see to that. Chronos fingerprints frames and correlates them across probes, matching them and measuring true delay even after the signal is transformed.
