The blind spot

Everyone watches the player. Nobody watches the path.

Player-side QoE tells you a viewer rebuffered — minutes later, at the edge. It can't tell you that cloud production added 214 ms last Tuesday, or that two feeds drifted out of sync before the encoder. Chronos measures the signal itself, between the points you choose, while it's happening.

Latency is invisible until it isn't

A frame leaving the venue and the "same" frame downstream are never byte-identical — re-encoding, scaling and re-timestamping see to that. Chronos fingerprints frames and correlates them across probes, matching them and measuring true delay even after the signal is transformed.
